Driving Demonstration
Turning into one-way streets
One-way streets will have one or more lanes, all traveling in the same direction. The trick is to make sure you turn into the correct lane.
Where should you practise this?
Plan a route that takes you into a one-way street and means you can practise both left and right-hand turns.
When you’re turning into a one-way street
- Use the intersection approach routine.
- Turn into the lane closest to you, unless there are lane markings guiding you to a different lane.
- If you’re turning right, check for any traffic going straight that you may need to give way to.
- When turning, be careful of other drivers opposite you who are also turning. You should be able to go at the same time as you’ll be turning into different lanes, though they could still veer into you.
